STEM Virtual Motion System Hits Kickstarter Goal

And now that developers Sixense have raised more than double the $250,000 they needed on Kickstarter, the STEM system — a wireless, modular motion tracking platform for use with almost any gaming or VR set-up — is officially a go and heading for production.

With sensors strapped to various parts of your body, you can accurately control your video game avatars for more precision motion.  Like actually smashing car windows, boosting vehicles and fighting off cops in Grand Theft Auto V.  Or maybe just hopping on mushrooms and clamoring through tubes like Mario is more your speed.

We’re not gonna judge…

Anyway, it’s pretty cutting edge…and as our buddies over at Thrillist suggested, pairing the STEM with ANOTHER super-cool envelope-pushing gaming device we’ve all been talking about should have you salivating at the prospect of picking one up.

Head over to Thrillist and read the full story on this awesome little product, which should start finding its way into the hands of Kickstarter backers as early as next summer.
