Next year, TNT will premiere “Legends,” a new spy drama series starring Sean Bean as Martin Odum, an FBI Deep Cover Operations who is uniquely gifted in his ability to completely disappear into a different persona for each job. Now Odum may have met his match.
Deadline is reporting that Morris Chestnut has joined “Legends” as a series regular. Chestnut will portray Antonio “Tony” Cimarro, another member of the FBI’s DCO whose talent for assuming different identity may be on par with Odum’s. The report also notes that Odum and Cimarro are rivals within the agency.
Chestnut has previously appeared in several TV series, including the reboot of “V,’ ‘Nurse Jackie” and the first season of “American Horror Story.” However, Chestnut is best known for his feature films including Boyz n the Hood, The Best Man, Think Like A Man, Kick-Ass, Half Past Dead, The Best Man and Higher Learning.
“Legends” is based upon the novel of the same name by Robert Littell, with Howard Gordon (“Homeland”) attached as an executive producer. The series is expected to premiere on TNT in Summer 2014.
