NBA Rookie Puts Salary into Trust Fund

Michael Carter-Williams isn’t going to fall into the same trap that has affected NBA rookies before. (Looking at you, Kwame Brown.) Crave’s NESN published a report Monday that Carter-Williams’ mother set up a trust that the Philadelphia 76ers will pay his $4.5 million salary into.

It is a fund that the rookie point guard won’t be able to touch for three years. But don’t worry for the 22-year old Carter-Williams, his endorsement deals and trading card royalties will keep him in money. (He’s also sharing an apartment with his stepfather during his rookie season.)
