Investigators Hold Footage Of Michael Schumacher Ski Crash

French police may soon unveil more details into the accident that has former Formula 1 star Michael Schumacher in an induced coma in a French hospital.

Schumacher was involved in a serious accident whilst skiing on French slopes earlier in the week. He was rushed to hospital and has undergone two brain surgeries since.

French press are now reporting the police have obtained a camera that was attached to Schumacher’s helmet during the crash. His helmet did not survive collisions with three rocks, however the mini helmet camera reportedly may have.

More details of the incident have recently emerged- Schumacher, skiing with 14-year-old son Mick, had stopped to help a young girl who had fallen on the slope before attempting a 20 metre off-piste run cluttered with rocks. He hit the first rock, sending him flying into another two.

According to numerous sources, Schumacher allegedly had been complaining about the boot bindings of his rented skis, now under analysis by investigating authorities.

Fans from across Europe turned up at Schumacher’s Grenoble hospital yesterday on the star’s 45th birthday as part of a small event organised by Ferrari.

In honour of Schumacher, who won five world titles while with Ferrari, the auto manufacturer sent a number of coaches filled with fans from Italy. The birthday event was marked by a silent tribute outside of the medical facility.

The gesture by the racing giant has come under scrutiny for asking fans to don the trademark red of Ferrari.

While Schumacher’s fan club based in his hometown of Kerpen described birthday celebrations as something in bad taste, the Schumacher family were grateful for the support.

“The incredible sympathy shown today… has utterly overwhelmed us and moved us all to tears,” said the family in a statement.

“We are deeply grateful for it and also for all the heart-warming and heartfelt wishes for Michael to get well soon, which have reached us from all over the world.”
