A new drama series “Remedy” is gearing up to debut on Global, and there’s a number of Canadian stars appearing in the show.
Award-winning Enrico Colantoni, “It girl” Sara Canning and breakout star Dillon Casey will all be starring in the program, which takes an “upstairs/downstairs” look at downtown Bethune Hospital coupled as well as a complicated (yet all too relatable) look at the family dynamic at its core.
“Global is known for gripping and enduring dramas that resonate deeply with Canadians,” said Barbara Williams, SVP of Content at Shaw Media, in a press release. “With its fresh take on the medical drama genre fueled by rich and compelling characters brought to life by our star-studded cast, our new Canadian production Remedy cements the network’s stellar reputation as a champion of original content.”
From creator and showrunner Greg Spottiswood (“King”), “Remedy” follows the Conner family. Playing the Acting Chief of Staff and family patriarch Allen Conner is Colantoni (“Flashpoint,” “Just Shoot Me!”). Casey (“Nikita’) stars as the charismatic med-school dropout turned orderly, and prodigal son Griffin, Canning (“The Vampire Diaries”) plays Melissa, a General Surgeon with her own set of complex issues, and Sarah Allen (“Jozi-H,” “Murdoch Mysteries”) plays Sandy, the eldest daughter, ICU Nurse and bride-to-be.
“Remedy” premieres on February 24th at 9pm on Global.
