The Apocalypse Twins’ ultimate plan has come to fruition, even if they may have lost the fight against the Uncanny Avengers. Now, everything’s gone crazy as mutantkind has its own homeworld now, Planet X. While they have thrived out from under the influence of humanity’s prejudices and fears, things are not great for the last homo sapien on the planet, Janet Van Dyne, aka the Wasp, who is now apparently married to Alex Summers, aka Havok. Magneto’s X-Force wants her dead, so they have to fight for their lives.
“It’s been a long time coming—more than a year in the making!—but we’re finally at the big epic climax of Rick’s mega-arc,” says Executive Editor Tom Brevoort. “As readers have reacted to the startling events of the past few issues, wondering just how all of this can possibly be happening, we’ve known all along that the real shockers were yet to come! And Daniel Acuña’s depictions of Planet X are so fully-realized and so amazing that you’ll want to buy a condo there yourself (if you happen to be a mutant!) – It’s not too late for readers to get on board for the most amazing finale they’ll read all year! And they’ll need to, if only to feel well-informed and ready when—but I’ve said too much!”
Does that mean there’s a big event spinning out of Uncanny Avengers, a book which has seemed very disconnected from all others? Intriguing. Check out this first look at Uncanny Avengers #18.NOW, with art from Acuña, featuring a variant cover from In-Hyuk Lee, a Deadpool cover from Rob Guillory and an animal cover from Katie Cook.
