NYIAS 2014: First Debut Rumors Echo in Manhattan

EVENT VIDEO: New York International Auto Show 2014 First Look

Though still six weeks away, the 2014 New York International Auto Show is beginning to claim its share of debuts.

So far, rumors have seven models pulling back the curtain at NYIAS 2014, with more certain to be announced in the coming weeks.

In no particular order, the debuts we know about so far include:

Mini Cooper Special Edition: Whatever emerges at NYIAS 2014 will be chosen by fans via an online vote.

2015 Subaru Outback: The Outback is a successful vehicle for Subaru, so don’t expect too many aggressive changes. It’s safe to expect better MPG and maybe a more fashionable interior.

2015 Nissan Murano: If this vehicle ends up looking anything like the concept work we’re seeing out of Nissan these days, this could be a very sporty crossover SUV.

2015 Kia Sedona: It’s tough to make a minivan or people carrier sexy, but Kia will give it a shot with their new Sedona. Expect a strong redesign of the interior to make those carried people move in comfort and style.

BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe: Introducing the 4 Series has been a little controversial for BMW, so we’ll see if the new four-door version is a step up from the 3 Series.

2015 Hyundai Sonata: The Hyundai Sonata is a big deal for Hyundai, as it serves as their entry level sedan. However the new one looks, it’ll have to get along with the new Genesis being introduced at media roll-outs this year.

BMW X4: BMW has multiple SUVs varying in size and capability. The X4 looks to include more sportiness, twitching down a size from the X5 or X6.
