The film stars Chow as the legendary Tang Sanzang, and features his early battles with demons plaguing the Chinese countryside. Journey to the West doesn’t open stateside until March 7, but it’s already shattered box office records in China, earning $205 million (U.S.) already. It opens in select theaters, on Video On Demand and on iTunes Friday.
