As one of Microsoft and the Xbox’s biggest calling cards, this probably should come as no surprise, but despite some encouraging news about chapters in the Halo franchise coming to Steam, don’t hold your breath waiting for more.
After last week’s announcement that Halo: Spartan Assault was going to be available on Steam, Microsoft immediately told GameSpot — then saw that info picked up on Crave gaming site Destructoid — that “we have no further Halo releases on Steam planned at this time.”
While it’s no major surprise, it is a disappointment that Microsoft’s dalliance with PC versions of their flagship Xbox games are just that — dalliances.
Guess if you’re a computer gamer and want to get your Master Chief fix, Spartan will have to do for now — or just do what Microsoft wants you to do: break down and buy an Xbox One anyway.
