VIDEO: Wow! A’s Prospect Scores on Sac Fly — From Second Base

Guys tag up and score on flyballs to the outfield all the time…

But when was the last time you saw a player score on a sacrifice fly — from second base?  Answer: probably never…until now.

In this video posted by Crave sports site NESN, watch Oakland A's prospect Billy Burns display the kind of sheer, raw speed that literally will make your jaw drop.

The 24-year-old with the A's Double A-affiliate Midland RockHounds put on the amazing display Tuesday during the second inning of the Hounds' matchup with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals.

Yes, the flyball did put the centerfielder in a less-than-fabulous position to get the ball back to the infield, but he didn't take any extra time returning the ball.  And with Burns' jets, he was never CLOSE to getting caught.  Hell, he practically lapped his teammate, who tagged up from third base.

It's just the latest noteworthy episode for Burns, who tallied an eye-opening 74 steals last season in the Washington Nationals' farm system.
