“Star Wars: The Clone Wars” is over, but later this year, the newest animated series in the franchise, “Star Wars: Rebels” will make its debut on The Disney Channel.
Developed by animation veterans Dave Filoni, Simon Kinberg and Greg Weisman, “Star Wars: Rebels” takes place between Star Wars: Episode III and the original Star Wars film as a small band of new characters attempt to fight the Empire.
At WonderCon, Filoni unveiled a brand new scene from “Star Wars: Rebels” that focuses on Hera (Vanessa Marshall), the captain of the Ghost as she exhibits some displeasure with the leader of the group, Kanan Jarrus (Freddie Prinze, Jr.). And let’s just say that Hera takes charge in her own unique way. We also get a glimpse of the astromech droid, Chopper by Hera’s side.
“Star Wars: Rebels” will premiere as a one hour special on The Disney Channel later this year before the launch of the series on Disney XD.
