Amazing Spider-Man 3 to Feature J. Jonah Jameson?

While The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is still days away from its U.S. release, it’s never too early to start thinking about The Amazing Spider-Man 3…as well as the conspicuously absent members of Peter Parker’s usual supporting cast.

Like, where the heck is the biggest constant thorn in Spidey’s side — J. Jonah Jameson?

Well, director Marc Webb is indicating we might just see the Daily Bugle’s blowhard publisher in the next big-screen installment in the franchise.

Appearing in a Google+ Hangout to pimp the upcoming film, Webb was asked if Triple-J was on the way, to which he replied:

“I like the idea very much of him coming up in the next film. It was more easy to accept a new Spider-Man than someone who could out do J.K. Simmons in that role, he is so iconic. That’s something we’ve really talked about. Obviously I love that character because he poses such an interesting dilemma for Spider-Man. The answer is I don’t know, but I think you can expect to see him in the future.”

As pointed out by Crave film site SuperHeroHype, this is no confirmation, but it does seem to indicate Jonah is at least in consideration for the ASM 3, which is already slated to hit screens June 10, 2016.

And in case you’re curious about any other tidbits Webb was dropping during the Google session, you can watch the whole thing below along with ASM 2 stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx and Dane DeHaan.
