Games! That's what PS4 needs. If you're not checking out Child of Light on your glorious next-gen machine then you really ought to be, but a $15 RPG can only go so far. Luckily, a post to the PlayStation Blog confirmed today that there will be some big titles hitting before the holiday rush, most notably Driveclub on October 7th.
Yoshida noted that the game's delay (it was originally slated for PS4's launch) was solely for quality purposes, and that such things are part of what comes with "being ambitious."
The problem with being ambitious is you have to be prepared to accept there will be challenges along the way. What DRIVECLUB offers has not been previously achieved in this category, and, because of this, the team needed more time to give you the game you’re waiting for.
We are really proud of the incredible work the team has produced — their tenacity and passionate pursuit of excellence is admirable, and DRIVECLUB will be all the better for it.
Though I had personally hoped for a summer release, October seems perfectly reasonable if the game proves to be as great as Yoshida believes it is. Additionally, though PS4 is experiencing a slight drought now, there are a solid number of titles coming before October, including Watch Dogs, Murdered: Soul Suspect, and possibly Planetside 2. Oh, and don't forget Destiny. Holding off on Driveclub until October, theoretically, shouldn't be so bad.
