NFL Draft 2014 VIDEO: Expect The Unexpected

If there is one consensus among NFL personnel and analysts it's that this year's NFL Draft may be one of the most unpredictable of all-time.

Although it's nearly impossible to predict this year, Sports Channel Editor Josh Helmuth lays out his top 5 'things to expect' come draft day on May 8:

  1. Expect the unexpected — We usually know who is a lock to go No. 1. Unfortunately, this year is unlike most. No one knows who the Texans will take at No. 1 overall next Thursday . It could be Jadeveon Clowney, Khalil Mack, or one of the plethora of quarterbacks available, which includes Johnny Manziel.
  2. Something insane will happen — numerous trade talks are already being rumored, including the Cowboys trading Tony Romo in order to move up to draft a new quarterback.
  3. Quarterback heavy in early rounds — Four, possibly five, quarterbacks could easily go in the first round with many more taken during rounds 2-3. Stars like Russell Wilson and Colin Kaepernick have sparked a trend, tempting more teams to wait on quarterback.
  4. Derek Carr will go higher than expected — This is mostly just on hunch, but his draft stock has done nothing but climb all off-season while Teddy Bridgewater's has faltered.
  5. Blake Bortles — …Will be the first quarterback off the board. Anything could happen on draft day, but if I were a gambling man, my money would be on the UCF stud with the incredibly hot girlfriend.
