Last week, DC announced its full lineup of Future’s End tie-in books for its upcoming comic event in September. But for some of those titles, Future’s End will feature the final issues.
In today’s August solicitations, DC Comics confirmed that Birds of Prey, Superboy, Batwing, Pandora, Phantom Stranger and All-Star Western have been canceled. Of that list, only All-Star Western doesn’t have a Future’s End tie-in issue in September.
Low sales numbers appear to be the reason that these six titles are coming to an end. Batwing, Superboy, All-Star Western and Birds of Prey were launch titles of The New 52 back in September 2011, while Phantom Stranger and Pandora were launched in 2012 and 2013, respectively.
It’s entirely possible that some of these titles may be getting relaunched. But at this point, DC has not announced any further plans for these titles.
