Did you notice something a little strange about that new Batman costume Zack Snyder revealed to the world last week? Don’t think too hard about it. It’s right in front of you: the danged thing was in black and white. While few were foolish enough to think that the grayscale color scheme was hiding something as unexpected and obnoxious as a bright yellow and purple batsuit, some were indeed wondering what colors Ben Affleck’s Batman costume would be sporting in the upcoming superhero team-up Batman vs. Superman. And the answer may have already been revealed by Ben Affleck’s old pal and Chasing Amy director Kevin Smith.
“So what the suit looks like,“ Smith said on his Hollywood Babble-On podcast (via ComicBook.com), “And I was always kind of keeping it quiet until they revealed it, but they’ve revealed it. And you can kind of see, and anybody that…you’ve seen some people take the picture and color it online. If you want to see what this f***ing suit looks like, you just go to Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns, go to the third book, Hunt the Dark Knight… it’s the exact f***ing outfit he’s wearing. That’s why I hugged that guy all those months ago.”
What’s more, Kevin Smith also hinted that the suit we saw in Zack Snyder’s picture may only be one of the costumes Batman wears throughout Batman vs. Superman, and that the Batmobile in the image may be one of many as well.
