Marvel has a tendency to fall in love with adjectives and constantly reuse them. All it takes is one hit book and suddenly half the comics line is “All-New” this or “Dark” that.
Because Savage Wolverine is a hit, Marvel is bringing out Savage Hulk, a new ongoing anthology of Hulk tales that aren’t necessarily constrained by modern continuity. For the first arc, Alan Davis is writing and penciling a story about one of the Hulk’s early encounters with the Uncanny X-Men. And it’s a very Silver Age lineup of X-Men that includes not only the original five, but also Havok and Polaris!
After the inevitable hero fight, the Hulk and the X-Men will take on the Leader and the Abomination. But in the meantime, enjoy these fantastic pages by Davis that feature the Hulk in action!
