Back in April, Marvel teased a new Deathlok series spinning out of the Original Sin event. Today, the creative team of the series has been revealed.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nathan Edmondson and artist Mike Perkins are teaming up for the new Deathlok series, which will spin out of their ten page Deathlok story in the Original Sins anthology miniseries. Despite initial reports that the new series would focus on the Michael Collins incarnation of Deathlok who headlined his own series in the ‘90s, the report indicates that there is a brand new Deathlok who is more inspired by the version of the character that appeared in “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” last season.

“[Henry Hayes is] at war with the machine of war and the machine of global enterprise — and the machine inside him that makes him a lethal, unstoppable one man army,” explained Edmondson. “[He] is a father and a medic who doesn’t know that he’s a machine, a killer behind some of the sweeping changes in geopolitics.”
Edmondson also described his Deathlok series as “Manchurian Candidate meets Robocop. With great friggin’ art.”
The new Deathlok series will launch in October. In the meantime, Edmondson and Perkins’ Deathlok prequel story will appear in this week’s Original Sins # 1.
