Luis Suarez has reportedly made a verbal agreement with Barcelona to join the club, even though his current club Liverpool have rejected a £60million bid for him.
The striker has been linked with Barcelona for a while now, and in the way of his four-month ban from FIFA it was said that Barcelona were hoping to sign him for cheaper than his asking price, given that he would miss a sizeable portion of Liverpool’s Premier League campaign next season.
Spanish newspaper AS has claimed that Suarez wants the move to go ahead, though Liverpool and boss Brendan Rodgers are said to be holding out for a £75million bid before the PFA Player of the Year will be transferred. Suarez’s wife’s family live in Catalonia, which is reportedly a huge factor in the move, and Rodgers would hope to use the cash from his departure to strengthen the entirety of his squad.
Though the asking price is set at £75million, it is believed that a £70million deal will be agreed upon by both clubs.
