Count Vertigo is coming to “Arrow.” Again.
TV Guide is reporting that veteran actor Peter Stormare has been cast as Werner Zytle for the first episode of “Arrow” Season 3. Werner Zytle is the alter ego of the Green Arrow supervillain Count Vertigo, who is perhaps best known for his stint in the Suicide Squad.
Prior to “Arrow,” Stormare has appeared in the Fargo feature film, “Prison Break,” The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Armageddon, Premonition, 22 Jump Street and NBC’s “The Blacklist.”

“Arrow” fans may recall that Seth Gabel portrayed a version of Count Vertigo who called himself “The Count” during the first two seasons. Gabel’s character was initially described as “truly scary and nightmarish” and there were rumors that The Count would be one of the Arrow’s primary villains.
However, The Count never lived up to the hype and he was killed off during “Arrow” Season 2. Stormare’s character will retain a link to The Count, as he takes over the supply of the Vertigo drug in Starling City.
It’s not clear if Stormare will be on more than one episode of “Arrow,” as he is expected to be a major part of “The Blacklist” Season 2 as the enigmatic Berlin.
“Arrow” Season 3 will premiere on Wednesday, October 8.
