Yadier Molina & Tony Cruz: Pair of Cardinals Catching Comedians

The St. Louis Cardinals may currently be 2.5 games behind the Brewers for first place in the division — one of them may even be on the disabled list — but you can’t argue the catchers aren’t having any fun.

Yadier Molina and Tony Cruz both displayed viral worthy antics on back-to-back nights against the Rays this week. First came Cruz’s new walk-up music Tuesday night, which wasn’t really music… or a song… but what they call the “chest beating chant” from Wolf Of Wall Street….

Ya, weird as hell. Funny as ****.

Cruz is currently filling in full-time for Molina while he’s on the DL following a thumb injury.

In case you haven’t seen the movie, here is the clip of the “chest beating chant” from Mr. McConaughey which Cruz has decided to adopt prefacing at-bats.

Then to top it off on Wednesday night, Yadier Molina decided to leave a little snack at home plate for his brother, Jose, who is catcher for the Rays. I guess while he’s recovering from thumb surgery, Yadi felt he had to one-up his substitute (Cruz).

I love cheese and crackers. Peanut butter is better.

Tony and Yadi — two Cardinals characters for sure.
