I love cosplay.
I’ve never done it myself, but I enjoy seeing the different costumes at Comic-Con International and at the other comic conventions around the country. I can appreciate the time and effort that goes into making those costumes, as well as the skill and the ability to pull it off while surrounded by hundreds, if not thousands of strangers.
That said, I was a little disappointed by the TV inspired costumes at Comic-Con 2014. It’s not that the skills were lacking, it’s just that I’m a little tired of seeing so many “Doctor Who” and “Game of Thrones” costumes to the exclusion of almost everything else TV related. Even on this list, there are a few picks from both of those shows simply because there weren’t a whole lot of other options to pick from!
To be sure, there were a lot of amazing film and comic book inspired costumes at Comic-Con. But compared to those categories, TV was lacking in creativity. I’m never going to tell anyone not to wear a costume that they love to wear… but “Doctor Who” fans, maybe someday you’ll be able to walk past a fez.

This is by no means the definitive list of TV cosplayers at Comic-Con. I can only go by the costumes that I personally saw and the 500 plus pictures taken by CraveOnline’s Dan Oravasaari at the convention. So if there are some amazing TV inspired costumes from Comic-Con that I didn’t get to see, I want to hear about them! And I want to see them.

Cobra Commander & Son
It must be "take your child to work" day at Cobra. I can't say with any certainty whether that's Billy with Cobra Commander, but those costumes are terrific!

Locutus of Borg
Considering that this "Locutus" was seen standing next to a Commander Shepard, this could be a Mass Effect character that I'm not aware of yet...
But if this is a Locutus of Borg then it is a pretty damn good one!

The Hound
Yes, it's the first "Game of Thrones" character on this year's list. This is a good Hound costume combined with a great visual joke about the Hound's Fried Chicken.

Daenerys Targaryen
This is a well made costume and a good look for the cosplayer.

A pretty good Cyberman costume, but his daughter wearing a Dalek dress was an inspired choice.
