Amazon Reveals Destiny’s Exclusive PS4 Content

It’s been known for a while that the PlayStation versions of Destiny would get exclusive stuff in some form or another, and today Amazon has clarified that promise substantially. According to the game’s listing, a slew of armor, weapons, vehicles, and maps will all show up on PlayStation versions only for a limited (but lengthy) time.

Here’s the breakdown – thanks Gameranx.

Armor

Manifold Gear Set

Argus Gear Set

Vanir Gear Set

Weapons

Monte Carlo

Hawkmoon

Vehicles

Aurora Wake

Outrageous Fortune

Crypt Hammer

Additionally, PS3 and PS4 versions of the game will have access to a multiplayer map called Exodus Blue, and a strike mission called Dust Palace. We’ll have to wait and see if those are kick-ass scores for Sony or just tacked-on extras, but exclusive means exclusive. If you’re buying on PS3 or PS4, it certainly can’t be a bad thing.

As has been the recent industry trend, all of these are “timed exclusives,” and will eventually become available on Xbox One and Xbox 360. The exclusivity has to last until at least Fall 2015, though, and in the gaming world that may as well be permanent. I doubt folks who want Destiny will wait an entire year just for this content to show up on Xbox.

Destiny is scheduled to release September 9th for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4, so you’d best make the necessary preparations if you’re looking to jump into what may very well be the next multiplayer console craze. That Amazon link certainly looks like a good place to start.
