CraveOnline Live Blogs The 2014 Emmy Awards!

Welcome to our annual coverage of the Emmy Awards! Seth Meyers is this year’s host, as the Emmy ceremony takes place at the Nokia Theater.

Let’s get started!

5:06PM: So far, Meyers’ monologue is really, really bad. C’mon dude, land a joke.

5:08PM: Thank God, that’s over. Amy Poehler takes the stage to announce Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy.

5:10PM: Ty Burrell is the first winner of the night. This is his second win in the supporting actor catagory for “Modern Family.” Is “Modern Family” going to streamroll through the other comedy shows again?

5:17PM: Allison Williams and Zooey Deschanel announce that Louie C.K. takes the award for comedy writing for “Louie” on FX.

5:18PM: Really fast and classy acceptance speech from Louis C.K.

5:22PM: Allison Janney is this year’s Outstanding Supporting Actress in a comedy for her role on “Mom.” Take that, “Modern Family!”

5:23PM: What the shit, NBC?! Two awards and it’s right back to commercials?!

5:32PM: Gail Mancuso wins her second Comedy directing Emmy for “Modern Family.” Hmm…  a repeat winner, imagine that. At least her Matthew McConaughey jokes are funny. Take notes, Seth Meyers!

5:40PM: For Fuck’s sake! Jim Parsons wins for the fourth time for “The Big Bang Theory” in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a comedy category.

5:46PM: Julia Louis-Dreyfus wins her third Emmy in a row for “Veep” in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a comedy category. This is her fifth Emmy overall. I think that every winner tonight has been a repeat winner.

5:48PM: Forgot to mention that Louis-Dreyfus and Bryan Cranston were very funny together when presenting the lead comedy actor award. I loved the “Seinfeld” callbacks.

5:50PM: Jesus, “The Amazing Race” takes the Outstanding Reality Series award for the tenth time. This year’s Emmys are looking a lot like the Emmys of the last four years.

6:00PM: Wow! Steven Moffat wins in the Outstanding Writing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special for “Sherlock!” The first new winner of the night!

6:02PM: Kathy Bates wins her second Emmy for her role in “American Horror Story: Coven,” This is in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Movie category and it’s a huge upset. She beat Julia Roberts and Allison Tolman, both of whom were favored. Bates’ previous Emmy win was for a guest appearance on “Two and a Half Men.”

6:08PM: Martin Freeman wins the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or Movie for “Sherlock.” Another first time winner! This may be “Sherlock’s” year…

6:11PM: Another first time winner and the first award for “Fargo.” Colin Bucksey is the winner of this year’s Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special contest.

6:21PM: Yes, this is “Sherlock’s” year. Benedict Cumberbatch wins the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie.

6:22PM: I wonder if Cumberbatch and Freeman now regret skipping the Emmys this year…

6:28PM: This year’s Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie is… Jessica Lange for “American Horror Story: Coven.” This is her third win in a row for “American Horror Story.”

6:30PM: Weird Al does TV show themes! Love it. Brilliant “Game of Thrones” bit to close it out.

6:36PM:  “Fargo” is this year’s Outstanding Miniseries. Well deserved award.

6:42PM: HBO’s The Normal Heart is this year’s Outstanding Television Movie. Ryan Murphy doesn’t go home emptyhanded this year.

6:47PM: Sarah Silverman wins Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special for Sarah Silverman: We Are Miracles. Another repeat winner.

6:54PM: Key & Peele, please host this show next year.

6:56PM: Glenn Weiss wins Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special for The 67th Tony Awards. The Oscars are jealous.

6:59PM: “The Colbert Report” wins Outstanding Variety Series for the second year in a row. Comedy Central has dominated this category for over a decade.

7:09PM: And now the main event begins. For the first drama category of the night, Aaron Paul is once again the winner of the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for “Breaking Bad.” This is his third win in the category.

7:13PM: The In Memorium segment has begun. Robin Williams tribute probably coming up soon.

7:18PM: Billy Crystal gave a great tribute to his friend Robin Williams. Really powerful and funny.

7:27PM: Time for the Outstanding Directing for a Drama… and the award goes to Cary Joji Fukunaga for “True Detective!”

7:29PM: Anna Gunn wins for the second year in a row as the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a drama for “Breaking Bad.”

7:37PM: “Breaking Bad” strikes again in the Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series category. Moira Walley-Beckett takes it for “Ozymandias,” one of the greatest episodes of the series. It’s also her second win.

7:39PM: Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series is… Julianna Margulies for “The Good Wife.” Is this the only drama category win for the broadcast networks at this year’s Emmys?

7:48PM: This was the most anticipated category of the year: Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Thank HBO for what little suspense we’ve had tonight. And the winner is… Bryan Cranston for “Breaking Bad.” I was pulling for Matthew McConaughey, but can’t fault this choice. Of course, Cranston has now won this award for the fourth time. He also has an Emmy win for his days as Hal on “Malcolm In the Middle.”

7:50PM: It’s no one’s honor to introduce Jay Leno.

7:52PM: Shit… “Modern Family” wins for the fifth year in a row as the Outstanding Comedy series. Emmy voters, you are so God-damned lazy.

7:58PM: Final award…”Breaking Bad” takes the Outstanding Drama series and triumphs over the rest for one last time.

8:00PM: How about that? The Emmys are over on time. Goodnight everybody!
