Last month, Devon Aoki (2 Fast 2 Furious) was cast as Tatsu Yamashiro in the third season of “Arrow.” However, Aoki has reportedly pulled out of the role due to scheduling conflicts and another actress has stepped in.
Rila Fukushima has been signed to portray Tatsu on a recurring basis during “Arrow” Season 3. Tatsu will serve as a mentor to Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) under the oversight of A.R.G.U.S. during the flashback sequences in Hong Kong.
To DC Comics fans, Tatsu is best known as Katana, a martial arts expert created by Mike W. Barr and Jim Aparo in 1983. Katana was one of the founding members of The Outsiders and she has recently been featured in the New 52 reboot of Birds of Prey, the animated “Beware The Batman” and her own comic book series.

Fukushima is best known for portraying Wolverine’s self-proclaimed bodyguard, Yukio in The Wolverine. She has also appeared in Twilight Sasarasaya and Karma: A Very Twisted Love Story.
Although Fukushima’s character appears in the flashbacks, there is always the possibility that Tatsu will assume her superheroine identity in the present alongside the Arrow.
“Arrow” Season 3 will premiere on Wednesday, October 8 on The CW.
