The month long Futures End event is nearing its conclusion. We’ve seen a lot of Batman in this future, but not a lot of his greatest enemy. That could change in Harley Quinn: Futures End # 1.
According to the solicits, Harley Quinn and The Joker get hitched in this issue and then try to kill each other when their marriage inevitably goes bad. In the cover art, The Joker even appears to have a properly attached face again.
As for Harley, she’s not really a Batman villain anymore. She’s the star of her own comic book series that seems to exist in its own insane corner of The New 52 universe. Even the opening pages of this exclusive preview don’t seem to be too different from Harley’s normal misadventures as she ships herself to her to the Bahamas even when someone offers to help her pay for her airfare. One crash landing later, Harley finds the natives wearing something very familiar.
There may be a few Cast Away jokes in there as well…
The writing team of Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner continue their madcap Harley Quinn antics with artist Chad Hardin in Harley Quinn: Futures End # !. The issue will be released this Wednesday, September 24.
