Last season, Josh Holloway’s “Intelligence” TV series failed to take hold at CBS. But Holloway may not be out of television for much longer.
Deadline is reporting that Holloway has been cast in the leading role of Will Bowman in “Colony,” a new drama pilot set up at USA. In “Colony,” Holloway’s character is a former FBI agent who is coerced into collaborating with the forces occupying Los Angeles in order to protect his family. Bowman’s job is to snuff out the growing resistance movement within the Los Angeles colony.
“Colony” was co-created by Ryan Condal (Hercules) and Carlton Cuse, the former co-showrunner and executive producer of “Lost.” Holloway was a main cast member for six seasons on “Lost” and he is said to be close friends with Cuse.
Aside from his leading roles in “Lost” and “Intelligence,” Holloway has also appeared in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, Stay Cool, Whisper, Paranoia, “NCIS,” “Community” and “CSI.” Cuse is among the busiest producers on television, with “Bates Motel” and “The Returned” on A&E and “The Strain” on FX in addition to other series in development.
Legendary Television and Universal Cable Productions are producing “Colony” for USA, with Juan José Campanella (The Secret In Their Eyes) slated to direct the pilot episode. A start date for production of the pilot was not announced.
