Mark Frost Will Write a Twin Peaks Sequel Novel

This month has been very good to “Twin Peaks” fans. Last week, word broke that co-creators David Lynch and Mark Frost are reteaming for a third season of “Twin Peaks” on Showtime in 2016. The new season will take place twenty five years after the events of “Twin Peaks” Season 2 and serve as a wrap up for the series.

Today (via Entertainment Weekly), it was announced that Frost will also be writing a Twin Peaks novel that will jump back to 1991 and explore the quarter century gap between seasons 2 and 3. The novel will be called The Secret Lives of Twin Peaks and it will also catch up with characters from the first two seasons while offering “a deeper glimpse into the central mystery that was only touched on by the original series.”

In a statement, Frost said “This has long been a dream project of mine that will bring a whole other aspect of the world of Twin Peaks to life, for old fans and new. I couldn’t be more thrilled.”

Presumably, The Secret Lives of Twin Peaks will help set the stage for the new season of “Twin Peaks” on Showtime. The Secret Lives of Twin Peaks is set to be released in late 2015.
