In the late ‘90s, Marvel brought a team of Avengers from different points in time in the Avengers Forever miniseries. Next year, Marvel will revisit the concept of a time-tossed Avengers team in Avengers: Ultron Forever.
Spinning out of Jonathan Hickman’s Avengers run, Avengers: Ultron Forever will bring several members of the team into the future to fight Ultron in a world where all of the other heroes are dead and humanity has been completely subjugated. The team includes the Walter Simonson era Thor from the ‘80s (complete with battle armor and beard), the James Rhodes Iron Man (also from the ‘80s), the Hulk from an earlier era, the modern female Thor, as well as present day Vision and Black Widow.
The leader of this new team of Avengers is Danielle Cage, the daughter of Luke Cage and Jessica Jones who is the Captain America of the future.
Mighty Avengers writer Al Ewing and legendary comic artist Alan Davis are the Avengers: Ultron Forever creative team. The story will be told in three oversized issues by Ewing and Davis: Avengers: Ultron Forever # 1, New Avengers: Ultron Forever and Uncanny Avengers: Ultron Forever.
