Sydney Comedy Festival First Lineup Announced

The first acts on the 2015 Sydney Comedy Festival have been announced with UK favourites Ross Noble and Stephen K Amos leading the international comedic charge at the event, set to take place at various Sydney venues from Monday 20th April until Sunday 17th May 2015.

A frequent visitor to Australia, noted improvisational comic Ross Noble will deliver his brand new show Tangentleman at the Enmore Theatre on 24th April a day after the hilarious Stephen K Amos presents his new show, Welcome To My World, at the same venue.

Leading the Australian contingent at the festival will be one of the nation’s most successful comedy exports, Jim Jefferies, who will also take to the Enmore stage to perform his Live show, while Logie Award winning comedian Effie and Egyptian born funnyman, Akmal will each take to the Factory Theatre stage for multiple shows in April and May 2015.

Also on the lineup are local favourites Matt Okine, of triple j fame, and Ronny Chieng, who this year won the Sydney Comedy Festival 2014 Best Show award.

The 2015 festival will also host some musical newcomers, including former Men At Work lead singer Colin Hay, who will test out the material he honed on stage at his new solo show Waiting For My Real Life and New Zealand’s Topp Twins who will delivering both original songs and character comedy.

The loved Sydney Comedy Festival Gala will return to the Sydney Opera House on 3rd May, the Festival Showcase will make its way across various venues as will festival favourite event, Cracker Night.
