Kirsten Dunst & Jesse Plemons Book a Trip To ‘Fargo’

Last week, a report named former “Burn Notice” star Jeffrey Donovan as one of the new cast members of “Fargo” Season 2 on FX. Today, two more performers joined the cast.

FX has announced that Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons have been signed to “Fargo” Season 2 as a married couple. Dunst is portraying Peggy Blomquist, “a small town beautician with big city dreams who is trying to figure out who she really is and what she really wants as she struggles with traditional societal expectations.”

Plemons is playing Ed, Peggy’s supportive husband who works as a butcher’s assistant. The new season of “Fargo” will take place in the late ‘70s and follow Lou Solverson, the father of Molly Solverson (Allison Tolman) from the first season.

Dunst is best known for her role as Mary Jane Watson in the first Spider-Man trilogy, in addition t o her turns in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Elizabethtown, Crazy/Beautiful, Mona Lisa Smile and The Virgin Suicides. Plemons had a co-starring role in the final season of “Breaking Bad” in addition to a starring role in “Friday Night Lights.”

“Parks and Recreation” star Nick Offerman has reportedly been offered a role in “Fargo” Season 2, but it isn’t clear if Offerman is in negotiations to appear in the ten episode second season.

“Fargo” Season 2 is expected to return to FX in 2015.
