The 2015 SAG Awards Are In!

The 21st Screen Actors Guild Awards have been decided, and, once again, it looks like Alejandro González Iñárritu’s darling Birdman has once claimed the top prize. Birdman has been sweeping most of the recent awards categories, perhaps predicting that it will also win the coveted Academy Award for Best Picture. The SAG Awards are, however, based only on on-screen performances, and are not given to films that are technically complex or well-produced. And while Birdman was considered the best-acted film of 2014, the film’s star, Michael Keaton, did not win Best Actor. That honor belonged to Eddie Redmayne, who has been much lauded for his performance as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything
