Hotline Miami 2 Digital Comic Hits Steam

Although Hotline Miami 2’s release date of March 10 remains unconfirmed, all signs point to a launch around that time, as developer Dennaton Games released the full digital comic today, Feb. 17, 2015. The comic is available on Steam free of charge.

The comic is a five-part series that will be updated as we get closer to the not-yet-official release date. According to the Steam page, the comic will “dive into the backstory of several factions on a path to confrontation.” This could be in reference to at least one of the groups already planned as playable characters, “The Fans,” a group of vigilantes who idolize Hotline Miami‘s original protagonist.

Hotline Miami 2‘s comic will be penned by DayJob Studio, a web comic house, who will be doing its first video-game-related project.

Dennaton Games and publisher Devolver Digital are certainly following through with their plan to move forward unscathed after the Australian Classification Board dubiously denied Hotline Miami 2 a rating, effectively banning the game in Australia. The mysterious phone number that lead to a potential release date posted on Hotline Miami‘s Twitter account along with today’s digital comic is evidence of that much.

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number will release for PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
