One of the most important days of the year is this Sunday. We’re not talking about the Oscars – no. Sunday, February 22nd is National Margarita Day . CraveOnline scoured the internet in search of the tastiest, most interesting margarita recipes out there. Some contain habaneros, some are loaded with watermelon, all are delicious and are choked full of tequila.
National Margarita Day
British Breakfast Margarita
Via Herradura
2oz Herradura Silver
Large Bar spoon of apricot jam
¾ oz lime juice
¼ oz simple syrup
Directions
Pour all ingredients in a cocktail shaker; shake hard and pour into an ice filled old fashioned glass. Garnish with kumquats (in season), apricots and a mint sprig.
Mango Scotch Bonnet Margarita
Via Herradura
2oz Herradura Silver
¾ oz Lime juice
3 slices of scotch bonnet pepper
3 cubic inches of mango diced
½ oz mango jam
Directions
Crush mango and chili slices in the base of a shaker with a muddler. Add cubed ice and remaining ingredients. Shake hard and strain over ice in an old fashioned glass. Garnish with a scotch bonnet chili and a roll of dried mango.
Baja Margarita
Via Tommy Bahama Restaurant and Bar
2 parts Sauza® Conmemorativo® Tequila
1 part Cointreau®
2 parts scratch sour mix
½ part lime juice
½ part Grand Marnier®
Instructions: Add all ingredients to a shaker except Grand Marnier. Add ice and shake well until chilled. Strain over fresh ice in a glass with a salted rim, and top with Grand Marnier. Garnish with a lime wedge.
Scratch Sour Mix:
(Recipe makes 1/2 gallon. Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.)
3 oz. egg whites, pasteurized
2 cups sugar
4 cups water
3 ½ cups fresh lemon juice
¼ cup fresh lime juice
¼ cup fresh orange juice
Instructions: Whisk egg whites in a large bowl until frothy. Stir in the sugar and mix until incorporated. Add water and fresh juices and mix thoroughly.
Mango Habanero Margarita
Via Tommy Bahama Restaurant and Bar
1 ¾ parts Milagro® Silver tequila
¾ parts orange Curaçao liqueur
1 part The Perfect Purée® Mango Purée (diluted with equal parts water)
1 part scratch sour mix
2 slices fresh habanero
4 drops Bittermens® Hellfire Habanero Shrub Bitters - available at Tommy Bahama
Instructions: Build in a shaker and add ice. Shake well until chilled. Strain over fresh ice.

Yuzu Margarita

2 oz siembra azul reposado tequila
.5 oz Yuzu juice
.5 oz honey simple syrup
Served straight up.
Half salt rim a coupe/martini glass
Shake vigorously and strain into glass.
Winter Margarita

INGREDIENTS:
1 ½ oz. Inocente Tequila
1 ½ oz. House made apple syrup
½ oz. Lemon juice
METHOD:
1) Add all ingredients into mixing glass and shake with ice;
2) Strain into rocks glass over ice;
3) Garnish with a lime wedge and a slice of macerated apple.
Cherry Bomb

Yield: 1 Serving
INGREDIENTS
2 oz Tequila
2 oz Cherry jam
1 oz Lemon juice
1 oz Black pepper agave
METHOD
Add all ingredients to iced cocktail shaker and shake vigorously Pour into a rocks glass and garnish with a pickled cherry Black Pepper Agave

2 cups Agave syrup
¼ cup Whole black peppercorns
METHOD
Place all ingredients into a pot and slowly bring to a simmer Once the mixture has reached a simmer, remove from heat and let cool in an ice bath Once cool, strain black pepper from the mixture
Jalapeno-Ginger Margarita

INGREDIENTS
1.5 oz Jalapeno Infused Teq.
.75 oz ginger syrup
.5 oz lime juice
Garnish: Lime wedge

Watermelon Margarita

Ingredients:
Falva Gold tequila 2.2 oz.
Triple Sec .5 oz.
Fresh lime juice .5 oz.
Fresh lemon juice .5 oz.
Fresh watermelon purée 2 oz.
Method:
Shake all ingredients together and serve on the rocks. Garnish with a watermelon wedge rimmed in black and white salt.
TAO Garita

INGREDIENTS
1 part TAO Sour Mix, made with kalamansi lime and agave
1 part Milagro Silver Tequila
Wasabi salt, to taste
METHOD
Add all ingredients to shaker with ice and shake well to mix Coat rim of glass with wasabi salt Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice Garnish with a wedge of lime
Jasmine Margarita

RECIPE
1 ½oz Casamigos Blanco Tequila
½oz Pom Concentrate
½oz Fresh Lime Juice
½oz Fresh Lemon Juice
½oz Simple Syrup
DIRECTIONS: Combine all ingredients in shaker, add ice and shake. Strain in a rocks glass that is half rimmed with Sal de Gusano and crushed ice. GARNISH: Sal de Gusano Half rim & 4 – 5 pomegranates seeds
Salt Air Margarita

Fill Pint Glass with ice 2 oz Cazadores Blanco ¼ oz Cointreau ¾ oz Fresh Lime Juice ½ oz Simple Syrup Strain into Martini Glass Add 2 tbsp Salt Air Salt Air:
*The air is created by combining the salt, water and lime with soy lecithin, a natural emulsifier. Using an immersion blender, the combination is blended to draw in air and create volume. Like blowing bubbles only the lecithin makes it more stable so the bubbles last longer.
8 oz water
4 oz lime juice
2 tbsp kosher salt
1 tsp lecithin
Mix together. Use a hand blender to create ‘air’.
