A DC Superhero Team-up Show May Spinoff From Arrow & The Flash

If recent episodes of The Flash and Arrow featuring Firestorm and The Atom felt like potential spinoffs for both series… that wasn’t by chance.

Deadline is reporting that The CW is developing a new DC superhero spinoff that would feature Brandon Routh and Caity Lotz from Arrow along with Victor Garber and Wentworth Miller from The Flash that would serve as “an anthology team-up series.”

Routh is currently playing Ray Palmer aka The Atom, while Victor Garber recently portrayed Dr. Martin Stein, one half of the hero known as Firestorm. Robbie Amell plays Robbie Raymond, the other half of Firestorm, but his name was not listed in the report.

The inclusion of Lotz is surprising because her character, Sara Lance aka Canary was killed off at the beginning of Arrow Season 3. However, this is a comic book inspired world, so resurrection isn’t completely out of the question. Lotz could also appear in flashback episodes or take on another role entirely.

Wentworth’s presence is also unusual since his character, Leonard Snart aka Captain Cold is a villain. But he could serve as either a recurring antagonist for the heroes or an antihero in the currently unnamed series.

The Flash and Arrow executive producers, Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim are all attached to the potential DC Team-Up series. The report also notes that the project would feature three new DC heroes who have never been on a TV series before.

If this project goes forward, it would likely debut in either the Fall 2015 TV season or be held back as a midseason show while Arrow and The Flash are on hiatus.
