If you thought “Spring Fever” was just a myth, then you’ll be surprised to learn that single men and women really are more likely to thrust themselves onto the dating scene in this particular season.
Following the chilly months of winter, in which no one can really be bothered to go out and indulge in romance given that they’re mostly trying to evade coming down with the flu, singletons are likely to burst back onto the scene, according to dating site Zoosk.

The site’s analysts compiled 9.6 million conversations held by its members, looked at 850,000 new signups and 66 million member sessions in order to deduce whether the change of the season had any impact on the number of people looking to start dating. The results revealed that 34% more first messages are sent daily in spring, 28% more “deep” conversations take place (deep in this instance meaning that each user in the conversation sent two messages), while the site received an 11% increase in daily registrations.
If you found yourself alone this winter, then, and are looking for romance (or at the very least, a little bit of casual fun until that One True Love comes bounding from the door to free you of your tepid existence), then it looks like spring is the season to have at it.
