This 21-Year-Old Just Won The Masters — 10 Things To Know

He was a young golf prodigy from Dallas, Texas. He played golf for the Texas Longhorns, leading them to a national championship. And now, he has a green jacket.

So who is Jordan Spieth? He’s the next big thing in golf. And don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Here are 10 things to know following his Masters win Sunday.

2nd youngest winner ever

Only 21-years-old, only Tiger Woods won The Masters at a younger age, who did it 155 days younger than Spieth.

Spieth broke insane Masters records

He tied Tiger Woods’ 1997 record score of 18 under par. But he also set the all-time record for best 36 and 54-hole score.

He’s the first wire-to-wire champion since 1976

Spieth is just the fifth man to have led from start to finish over the golf tournament’s four day. Raymond Floyd was the last to do it in 1976.

Most dominance since WWII era?

Only since Craig Wood in 1941 has any Masters Champion never allowed a competitor to get within three shots the entire way.

No. 2 in the world

The No. 1 slot in the world still goes to Rory McIlroy, who has four majors. But Spieth is now at the No. 2 spot. It’s the first time players 25 or younger have been No. 1 and 2 in the world.

His 14-year-old sister, Ellie.

Ellie, who has autism, was Spieth’s “Key to inspiration”

Augusta National Golf Club gave him the famous green jacket … and a $1.8 million pot.

Under Armour will likely pay him more

Spieth has earned over $14.2 million after winning 60 PGA Tour events over his short career. However, the golfer made nearly half of that last year alone from deals with Under Armour, AT&T, Rolex and Titleist. – Washington Post

Women on social media are throwing themselves at him.

Spieth’s girlfriend is high school sweetheart, Annie Verret.

The Tiger Woods era still isn’t officially over. But Spieth’s Master’s dominance sure puts a new era on the horizon. Be ready. It’s going to be fun to watch.
