Marvel kicked off its Star Wars comics revival with a solo series for Darth Vader and a miniseries for Princess Leia. Now, it’s Lando’s turn.
StarWars.com had the first announcement from Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim regarding Marvel’s new series, Star Wars: Lando. Charles Soule (Death of Wolverine) and artist Alex Maleev (Daredevil) are the creative team of Star Wars: Lando, a new comic book series that will explore Lando’s adventures before his appearance in The Empire Strikes Back.
In Star Wars: Lando, the title character will once again be joined by his right hand man, Lobot as they try to steal the most valuable ship in the galaxy.

“Is Lando Calrissian the coolest character in all of Star Wars? Depends on who you ask, probably. But if you ask me, the answer is yes, and I plan to prove it with this story,” said Soule in a statement.
“Before Cloud City, before his glorious Death Star run,” continued Soule, “Lando Calrissian was just a man trying to make his way through an uncaring universe determined not to recognize that he was undeniably the coolest man in the galaxy. But Lando’s got a plan to change all that… and it starts with the deal of a lifetime.”
Billy Dee Williams recently reprised his role as Lando on the animated series Star Wars: Rebels, and Lando was previously the starring character of three Star Wars novels by L. Neil Smith.
Star Wars: Lando # 1 will be released in July 2015.
