Tim Cahill has broken his nose during a match for new club Shanghai Shenhua in the Chinese Super League. The Australian icon has made a good start for the club this season, but had to leave the field in a match that ended in a 3-0 loss.
Cahill flew in for a typically tough tackle (2:47) which resulted in a head clash with the Guangzhou Evergrande attacker. Down 3-0 Cahill’s side were battling to get a foot-hold in the match. The defeat weighed heavy on the mind of Cahill, who tweeted later that evening after receiving treatment.
“Tough night. Nose a little broken but got my babies to take care of me. More upset we lost tonight.”
