White Sox No. 9 Prospect Hits Train With Home Run

Courtney Hawkins, a Double-A player for the Birmingham Barons who is a Chicago White Sox prospect, did something he might be able to talk about for a while.

Aaaaand boom goes the dynamite. The two-run shot smacked off the top of the freight train, and he was quickly informed by many people that it was even able to be heard clanging off the metal train car.

Birmingham went on to defeat Montgomery 10-4, so it was a happy ending overall. Come on, you know if you nailed a train or some other large and moving object with a home run shot, you’d be bragging about that instantly and for quite some time after.

Thanks to our friends over at NESN for the exciting update on minor league baseball.
