NBA Finals 2015: Kyrie Irving Limps To Locker Room After OT Loss To Warriors

Game 1 of the 2015 NBA Finals did not disappoint. It was spectacular. Incredible. Every fan sure to have been entertained to the max!

Unless you’re a Cleveland fan.

The Cavs fell short, losing in overtime to the Golden State Warriors 108-100. What’s worse is that star point guard Kyrie Irving re-aggravated his left knee he’s been bumblin’ on for weeks.

And yes, I’m pretty sure I just made up a word.

Just minutes before, at the end of the 4th quarter, Irving made a terrific play, blocking Steph Curry’s layup after he beat him to the bucket.

No word yet on the severity of Irving’s injury, but Cleveland better hope it’s not serious.

Here are some fun-filled facts:

  • Golden State is 47-3 at home this year, 8-1 in the playoffs.
  • Curry has hit multiple 3s in 21 straight postseason games, trying Ray Allen’s all-time NBA playoff record.
  • The winner of Game 1 of the NBA Finals has a 48-20 series record

Curry had 26 points and 8 assists Thursday night. LeBron James had 44 points.

Game 2 is Sunday at 7 PM central.

UPDATE: Irving has a fractured knee cap requiring surgery and is done for the season.
