After a hiatus, legendary animation producer Bruce Timm is back with Justice League: Gods and Monsters, a new direct-to-video DC animated film.
Justice League: Gods and Monsters is not a typical superhero story. This film takes place on an alternate world in which Superman is the son of Zod, Wonder Woman is Bekka of the New Gods, and Batman is Kirk Langstrom… and not remotely like Bruce Wayne.
This Justice League doesn’t subscribe to the traditional views of heroism, and they may be an even bigger threat to the world than the villains!
In partnership with Warner Bros. Animation, Machinima has released the first of three animated shorts leading into the Gods and Monsters movie. In Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles Episode 1, Batman goes after Harley Quinn. And while Harley is much more deranged in this universe, Batman has a secret of his own…
Michael C. Hall stars in Justice League: Gods and Monsters as Kirk Langstrom/Batman, alongside Benjamin Bratt as Zod / Superman, Tamara Taylor as Bekka / Wonder Woman, Jason Isaacs as Lex Luthor, Paget Brewster as Lois Lane, C. Thomas Howell as Dr. Will Magnus. The film was directed by Sam Liu from a story by Bruce Timm and Alan Burnett.
Justice League: Gods and Monsters hits DVD, Blu-ray and digital formats on July 28, 2015.
