Before we talk about Ronda Rousey’s continued unprecedented dominance, let’s do a quick recap of her recent performance.
UFC 175. July 2014 vs. Alexis Davis. Result? A 16-second knockout.
UFC 184 . March 2015 vs. Cat Zingano. Result? 14-second defeat with angled armbar.
Saturday night vs. Bethe Correia for UFC 190? KO in a whopping 34 seconds.
Yup. Rousey’s last three fights combined have lasted a total of 64 seconds.
Here’s a GIF of the women’s bantamweight champion taking out Correia Saturday night in Brazil.

What makes this result even sweeter?
Rousey said to Correia after the fight, “Don’t cry.”
The remark was in reference to what Correia said in an interview directed at Rousey leading up to the fight.
“I will give her a rematch if she doesn’t cry too much.” Correia said. “She can’t take the pressure. I will give her the chance to get the belt back. Please, don’t kill yourself, don’t commit suicide, because I will give you the rematch.”
Another new reason to love Rousey, as if we needed another, are the remarks she made in this recent video when reacting to body shamers.
“Listen, just because my body was developed for a purpose other than fucking millionaires doesn’t mean it’s masculine.
I think it’s femininely badass because there’s not a single muscle on my body that isn’t for a purpose, because I’m not a do nothing bitch.
It’s not very eloquently said, but it’s to the point and maybe that’s just what I am.”
Rousey is quickly rising as a transcendent, once-in-a-generation type talent. All of us should be thrilled to be able to witness it.
