New Primetime Entries Announced For TIFF

Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) organizers have announced the projects that will be showcased as a part of their new Primetime series.

Primetime will showcase six offerings from the strongest in international television. It is being regarded as the best global television experiences, brought to you in a group setting on the big screen. It isn’t the first time they have featured television at TIFF – in the past, their programme has included projects such as Sean Durkin’s Southcliffe and Agnieszka Holland’s Burning Bush.

The TV offerings at this year’s Primetime include:

Casual by Zander Lehmann – Shifting to the episodic format after his acclaimed feature-film work, TIFF favourite Jason Reitman (Juno, Up in the Air) directs this hilarious and insightful comedy about love and sex in the modern age.

Heroes Reborn from Tim Kring – This series from Heroes‘ creator Tim Kring unites characters from the original series with an additional group of superhumans, and sets them on a new, epic adventure.

Keith Richards Under The Influence directed by Morgan Neville – Academy Award-winning director Morgan Neville (Twenty Feet from Stardom) follows Keith Richards on the road as the legendary Rolling Stones’ guitarist records his first solo record in over two decades.

This year TIFF is celebrating its 40th anniversary.
