The vision for Freenote Cloth came from its surroundings. Founded in San Juan Capistrano, California, by brothers Matt and Andrew Brodrick, the line embodies the rancho era of territorial California.
If you aren’t familiar with San Juan Capistrano, we can understand why. The town lies in an area that’s well traveled, but located between larger destinations San Diego and Laguna Beach, San Juan Capistrano can be more of a travel-through city, rather than your end game. The folks who live there probably don’t mind one bit. The city is filled with rich culture, and tons of history, and that’s what made it the perfect place to found the heritage clothing line.

The line is made with premium materials and an attention to detail and craftsmanship, with a focus on rugged American ingenuity, from the construction to the appearance. In alignment with this aesthetic is the fact that all the apparel is made in the USA. Selvedge denim is offered in relaxed silhouettes, built to stand the test of time, and to look and feel better with age.
Classic denim jackets pair perfectly, allowing for a fine denim-on-denim look that we recommend everyone embrace. For something a little different, those same styles are manufactured in waxed canvas, demure on the outside with unexpected prints inside. Finally the wovens round out the collection, with denim shirts in long and short sleeved iterations, fitting the bill as outerwear in the warmer months, and layering pieces during cold times.
