Comic conventions are special events that let you meet your favorite authors, take pictures with the hottest celebrities, or get some exclusive merchandise from your favorite TV shows. Of course, when it comes to these conventions, Comic-Con International in San Diego is pretty much the king. With its rich program schedule and a number of high-profile guests, San Diego Comic-Con has come a long way from its humble beginning in the 70s. Now, it is one of the most anticipated events all year round.

In order not to miss all of the great parties that Comic-Con hosts, we’ve compiled a list of the events you mustn’t miss if you’re looking for a true convention experience. Just find the day you want, plan accordingly, and enjoy!

July 20, Wednesday

  • Karaoke Comic Con – Let’s face it, you’ve already put on a strange costume and bought like a million of lightsabers. There’s really no more room for embarrassment, so why not try karaoke?
  • Barenaked Ladies – Before you get over excited, that’s just the name of a band; and they are all fully-clothed guys. However, their humorous approach to music will surely create an awesome atmosphere, so go hear what they have to say.
  • HitFix Party – Finally, to mark the beginning of the first day of Comic-Con, there are the always beloved HitFix!

July 21, Thursday

  • Hasbro Studios Cocktails – Now, we realize that Hasbro and cocktails are not two words that really go with each other, but do give it a shot. One of the biggest toy and board game companies will surely make it worth your while.
  • Fleet Night Science: Comic-Con Afterparty – Adults-only after midnight party at the science center sure promises a lot. If you’re into slowly sipping drinks, while discussing the scientific aspects of popular TV shows or playing mind control games, this is something you have to visit.
  • IGN Bash Party – With a name like IGN, what more do you need? Prepare for a game-centered party night hosted by one of the biggest names in gaming news industry.
  • Weird Al Yankovic – The musical parody legend Weird Al is here to spoof on some more of the popular songs in his own, unique, weird way. Don’t miss out on this great performer.
  • Carry on My Wayward Cocktails – A relaxing event focused on the show Supernatural. If you’re a fan, don’t miss out on this.
  • Slayer Concert – For those of you who are a bit more on the intense side, come by and listen to a concert thrown by the metal legends we all know as Slayer!

July 22, Friday

  • Ghostbusters Mass Hysteria Fan Party – This paranormal party is for all of those who enjoyed the original comic book series and want to hear some of the show’s creators while having a drink with some like-minded people. Just stroll over to the Werewolf bar and prepare for the unexpected.
  • Sega Sonic 25th Anniversary Party – Sonic the Hedgehog turned 25 this year and is planning a party. Drop by, have a blast from the past, and look at some exclusive new material.
  • Cute, Cute, Kawaii After Party – If Japanese pop culture is your thing, go ahead and visit this party that celebrates the Kawaii culture in entertainment.
  • Women in Comics Collective, 1st Annual SDCC Cocktails & Comics Meet & Greet – Don’t miss out on this special event that celebrates women in comics. Drop by, you might even meet one in person.
  • SyFy Party – What was once known as Sci-Fi, is still one of the greatest TV stations that focus on everything that is science fiction. Some of the channel’s biggest stars might appear, so don’t miss out this unique event.
  • WWE Costume Party – For those of you who are fans of the professional wrestling, now is the time to try out your Rey Mysterio of The Undertaker costumes, without looking silly.
  • Lil Jon Performance – A rap artist, Lil Jon, will host a concert during the Comic Con’s third day, so, if you want to hear that amazing guitar solo that’s all over the YouTube, you have to go see it.

July 23, Saturday

  • Geek & Sundry Pop Up Party – To start off the Saturday, you’ll have a Pop Up party hosted by the creators of the popular YouTube channel, Geek & Sundry. Dance away, drink, play pool, or try all of that at the same time.
  • Superhero Pub Crawl – Dress up as your favorite superhero and visit one bar after the other on a quest to defeat all the thirst inside you. Superheroes can’t get drunk, right? Or can they?
  • Heroes Brew Craft Beer Fest – Meet the true heroes of beer at this special event which will offer over 100 craft beers for you to enjoy.
  • Porter Robinson DJ Set – To finish it off (it’s Saturday, after all), Comic-Con presents you one of the most popular DJ around, Porter Robinson.

July 24, Sunday

  • Comic-Con Pool Party – We would propose that by law every party must finish in a pool. Words like comic-con, pool, and party guarantee a good time!
  • Agents Wrap Party – Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will prepare you for the inevitable end of this amazing San Diego adventure.
  • MTV Fan Fest and 2016 MTVu Fandom Awards – Finally, there’s an award ceremony hosted by MTV for the best animation fandom, bandom, fan freakout of the year, and many more of these interesting categories.
