Art of Golf Combines Putting Greens with Reds, Blues and Yellows

As spring finally approaches, ponds will thaw and grass will turn green. In places of extreme civility, those ponds will once again become water hazards and that grass will be nearly mowed into fairways and putting surfaces.

The website Art of Golf celebrates all of that and anything else the game represents in the work of painter Steve Sunenblick. Based out of Portland, Maine, Sunenblick mixes contemporary art with golf imagery to create works celebrated within the game’s more passionate circles.

Three years’ worth of work is represented on the Art of Golf site. Inspired by the sport’s most basic elements, Sunenblick works in thick paints and big brush strokes — relying on concept and spirit over draftsmanship to connect with the art lover and player.

Prices for signed, numbered prints at the Art of Golf site average about $150, with mail order services available. The website also records and reports the golf destinations around the world buying and displaying Sunenblick’s work.
