NYIAS 2017: Infiniti Takes the Show Uptown with the 2018 Q50

While it may not be the sort of massive announcement that sends shockwaves through NYIAS 2017, Infiniti did add another smooth looking machine to the show. The updated and enhanced Q50 will snuggle into the middle of the Nissan sister company’s luxury sedan with a focus on upgraded driver assistant technology.

The Q50 will remain surprisingly afford with a presumed MSRP coming in around the mid $30,000 range. That buys the extensive suite of driver assistance technologies, including: Direct Adaptive Steering; Active Lane Control; Intelligent Cruise Control; Distance Control Assist; Backup Collision Intervention; Blind Spot Warning and Intervention; Lane Departure Warning and Prevention; Forward Emergency Braking and Predictive Forward Collision Warning.

The Q50’s power train options get a tune up from the VR powertrain family, including the 3.0 liter V6 twin turbo engine. The other engines options include a 2.0 liter turbocharged, four cylinder; a Direct Response Hybrid system and a higher output version of the 3.0 liter engine (available on the Red Sport 400, top tuned edition of the Q50).
