If you’ve ever been to a college party, been on a lower-than-normal beer budget, or played horseshoes with 60-year-old men, you’ve probably enjoyed your fair share of Pabst Blue Ribbon and its fizzy, mellow, sweet flavor. But the brand has decided that even after 175 years of the iconic brew, change is good, so Pabst is celebrating its birthday by releasing an extra boozy beer aptly called Pabst Blue Ribbon Extra.
Go with the flow: The Best Canned Cocktails To Take Anywhere
The new beer (as well as a non-alcoholic version) will be available this spring. Instead of the usual white can, Extra will come packaged in a black can and more potent alcohol content of 6.5 percent. What remains to be seen is whether or not fans of PBR will buy this alternative brew. Does brand loyalty extend to new products from the brand you already love? We’ll have to see.
In the meantime, this new offering from Pabst makes us reminisce about some of our favorite crushable grocery store beers that hipsters and grandfathers both enjoy. Check out some of our favorites below.
