TikTok is why we can’t have nice things. Seriously, as much as the video-sharing platform has done to elevate cooking, it’s also caused a lot of damage to foods we otherwise enjoyed in the interest of shock and awe. The latest stomach-churning combo that everyone is racing to try? Oreos and mustard.
Hard to believe, we know. What in the world is a hot dog condiment doing on one of our favorite desserts? We have no idea. We just know that everyone and their mother seems to be indulging in the edible dare, including celebrities like Lizzo.
The young rapper was recently seen reluctantly tearing open a package of the crème-filled chocolate wafer cookies and dousing one in French’s yellow mustard. Though she looks mildly disgusted as she chews the condiment-slathered cookie, she reaches for another Oreo and repeats the process!

As implied, she was far from the first to try this gag-inducing new food trend. People all over TikTok have been chowing down on mustard Oreos.

Given Oreo’s proclivity for crazy flavor combinations, we assume it’s only a matter of time until the cookie maker comes out with an official mustard-flavored concoction – and we’ll only have TikTok to blame.
